NextPayments' business model has impressed OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT. NextPayments was selected as one of the final 10 startups to participate in the collaboration program with OpenAI conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Ji Kwang-chul, CEO of NextPayments, recently said in an interview with Maeil Business Newspaper, "AI technology has been rapidly advancing, but for small business owners, such technology has been a mere illusion until now." He added, "NextPayments provides software (SW) that goes beyond the digital transformation of small businesses to offer solutions that maximize sales based on AI."
NextPayments provides AI-applied software (SW) for table orders and kiosks, digital signage, integrated ordering solutions, robot services, and more targeting small business owners. All of these are designed to be convenient for small business owners to use, with AI applied. For example, the table order system with ChatGPT can not only take orders via voice commands but also recommend menu items. When a reporter asked for a recommendation for two men, the system quickly suggested a type of beer along with a snack.

Even if you speak in English, it understands and takes orders. The kiosk for ordering can understand multiple languages and, moreover, the camera can recognize faces, estimate gender and age, and recommend menus accordingly. CEO Ji stated, "Simply by adding a chip to existing CCTV, we can analyze the movement of people entering the store and provide software that can be used for store management." He explained, "The table order integrates various delivery services such as Baemin and Yogiyo to manage orders and deliveries within the store." The information collected by AI is stored in an anonymized form, so it cannot identify individuals.
The data collected in this way at the store is provided to the store owner in the form of a 'dashboard' that can be seen at a glance, based on cloud-based AI that organizes it. This dashboard displays not only the most sold products by time, gender, and age but also how long people typically stay and how they move around the store. CEO Ji said, "As you can see the most sold products at a glance, you can manage your business more efficiently based on it." He added, "Small business owners can maximize sales through cost savings based on this." Based on this data, the store owner can try various management attempts. For example, if you ask AI, "Find a way to maximize sales in April," AI will respond with suggestions based on sales patterns from the previous month. Currently, Next Pay Munz's software is embedded in kiosks released by Samsung Electronics and service robots from LG Electronics.
